been a while
ok it’s been a bit long since i posted news (and still no photo page and i still can’t get gossamer threads up and running) but here’s a few essentials to check out this week:
- Wiretap’s coverage of the Not Down With the Lockdown event is inspiring. Youth are ripping it up in California.
- Go to the library much? Well, pretty soon it may be illegal. That’s not a joke or hyperbole. The madness with Dmitry Sklyarov gives us a glimpse into how far the government and corporations are ready to go to squelch any opposition. See this good coverage at Alternet.
- Starlings have some of the best mimicry. With the huge increase in mobile phone use, we’ve given them another sound to emulate.
- “Police throughout Michigan, entrusted with the personal and confidential information in a state law enforcement database, have used it to stalk women, threaten motorists and settle scores.” The police abusing power? My word! Sarcasm aside, this piece has the facts, worth a look.
