it’s kinda like male answer syndrome
only worse. but i’m definitely going to be adding the term “fleischering” to my vocabulary. didn’t democracy now have something about this a while back too? thanks, oneman.

and among the links i didn’t add to the pop category when i updated the links pages the other day was the texas rollergirls. sounds like a hot time in the lone star state.
and since you were looking for it, while updating, i consolidated older links, and added a pile of new ones into an entirely new category: war and US imperialism.
among those things that sound really neato but for which i just do not have the space or time: the Signal Strength wearable EMF feedback device and mapping tool and other projects from coin-operated.com. trip.
among those great pieces by pals, which i’ve recently read but failed to link to: sarah’s piece about the maxlet’s first anti-war protest, from the gathering place for web-savvy dykes.
among those sites that i find interesting, but am not totally sure what to make of them yet, idle words has an interesting bit just now about the use of blogrolls.
among the things-i-did-not-yet-know-but-found-today at bartcop there is a site devoted to bashing michael moore called revoketheoscar.com. thing is, they won’t debate homeboy. hello? what better way to lose credibility than to refuse an open debate? oh, and also, he had this graphic, which has been posted elsewhere, but i thought it was apropos of recent discussions here, and worth spreading around. so here you have it.

At another passover dinner the other night at a friend’s house, a couple of the guests were pretty hardcore zionists. The haggadah mentioned numerous ways the US government was screwing over people and the planet, and one of these folks started chiming in about “how it should have also talked about Saddam and the Arabs.” i held my tongue (for the moment). later, i was looking for links on how Saddam was made by the US, and low and behold Democracy Now had excellent coverage of the new investigative research done by Richard Sale. he wrote a piece last week which i’m sure others have been linking to it like crazy, but in case you haven’t seen it, it’s a pretty extensive survey of just how closely “we” were tied with him, and for how long. worth a read.
soon we’ll have photos of recent outings and passover and such. in the meantime, know that it was a month of a lot of activity. lots of sites on the sidebar covered the various amazing antiwar activities that i failed to cover, so check ‘em. also, one great find a pal sent me, which we used parts of in our passover dinner, was the newly revised Love and Justice Haggadah.
plus, in today’s mail arrived a book we’ve been so so excited about: The Garden of Vegan! my first glance got me pretty psyched for hitting the kitchen later this week. yumaliciousness awaits.
some of the best anti-war and progressive links you’ve never heard of are collected over at Rob Brezsny’s Web of Allies.

if you’ve not picked some up, get your local rad bookstore, café or co-op to order a stack of Deception Dollars. while yer there, try not to get overwhelmed with the links (there’s a lot of reading there.) |
crazy long time that i’ve been both super bizzy with other stuff, and somewhat uninspired. but i’m back
listening to the new KRS-1 (which is a trip) and an This is Acid Jazz collection, i just did a bunch a reorganization and knocked out 69 new links. Whew!
