renovation nation
i’ve spent too much time in our basement of late. here’s a few of the things, besides working my job-job, that i’ve been obsessed with (and therefore not blogging) since that first week in oct:
- planning
- demolition - tore out 5 existing walls
- TONS of ducting and replacing the ancient grumbling furnace with a super efficiant one
- recycling old materials: wood, metal, fiberboard, etc.
- framing new walls for den, office, hallway, garage, and sauna/hot tub area
- electrical & low voltage pre-wiring
- setting up and babysitting the drywall crews
- subfloor
- ripping out the old staircase.
next comes trim and paint and more flooring, followed by the windows and doors and then moving stuff in. pretty exciting. expect to see more bloggage again soon. and keep yer eyes out for a new contributor to AFSS. won’t ruin the surprise, but it’s gonna rock yer sock. nuf 4 now.
