forms — make ‘em!

one no longer needs to know html to make a web form that anyone can fill in with data that you want to collect. details of how you can use this cool new feature of google documents are on their blog.

get your YARmulke on

can’t wait for this book: Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean: How a Generation of Swashbuckling Jews Carved Out an Empire in the New World in Their Quest for Treasure, Religious Freedom–and Revenge, by Edward Kritzler, available from Random House in October ‘08. [via orthodox anarchist]

“that is the wierdest thing i’ve ever seen”

it is indeed one of the coolest pieces of guerrilla street performance art i’ve seen in a while. can’t find the link(s) (see below) but this stuff has been happening in other places. the best place for 207 people to freeze in place, however, is of course, grand central station in new york. check it and be amused and inspired:

update: organized by improv everywhere and they have a page with all their videos collected.

update 2: thanks sr/bj for this other great one from manchester
update 3: this youtube page has about 30 others.

i’ve been going through the 1,329 links (in 46 categories and sub-categories) that i made over at movementbuilding.org (soon to be decommissioned) and saving the still good ones on del.icio.us. there’s been many casualties. this squatted one was particularly ironic.

hover over me

i’m kind of loving the new feature of 10.5 that lets you hover over a date or some contact info in a mail message and be prompted to make either a new contact or add to an existing one, or to make a new ical event or to just pull up that date in ical. it’s good at interpreting strings that aren’t clearly a date, like “tomorrow” or “at 5″ or 555-1212. but this one was just odd:

not sure what kind of an event that would be, i am so… what? excited? fed up? glad to see you?

and there was much rejoicing…

Quicksilver is working again sans crashes. thank the makers.
